Simple things save lives in minutes

What you do in the first few minutes at a collision scene makes a big difference. The difference between the paramedics or air ambulance having someone they can work on or rescue, or not.

If a rider or pillion’s airway is blocked by their tongue, broken teeth, chin strap or a mouthful of blood where they bit their tongue on hitting the ground, you need to make that difference.

Rubicon First Aid brings you Biker First Aid

Why should I do this course?

Here are some things that we say about our course:

  • Learn and practice how to make a difference
  • What to do in the first 10 minutes before outside help arrives
  • A practical hands on course. Run by bikers for bikers
  • No previous first aid training or experience required
  • Certificate from HSE Awarding body valid for 3 years
  • £5 per booking in 2006 donated to the Air Ambulance

We're also backed by

  • MAG
  • BMF
  • County Council Road Safety Sections
  • IAM Motorcycle Section preferred course for members
  • Ace Café
  • Police Bike Safe Schemes

If you don't believe us, then read here about SAMmer Mark Godsland's experience of the course. Then read here for the opinions of Ian Kerr. He's an ex-police motorcyclist, currently a first aid instructor for the police, and on the management committee for Motorcycle World at Bealieu.

Sounds great, but is it expensive?

Not for SAMmers, coz you get a special discount:

  • Riders pay £45 for a one-day course instead of £69
  • Riders pay £75 for a two-day course instead of £99
  • Even cheaper for SAM pillions: £35 for one day, £60 for two days

OK, I'm convinced, when and how do I do it?

Here are the dates for forthcoming training events:

  • Sat 30 Sept 2006, Tithe Barn, Cheltenham Biker Night Special
  • Sat/Sun 28/29 Oct 2006, Gloucestershire (two day course)
  • Sat 25 Nov 2006, Forest of Dean
  • Sat 9 Dec 2006, Forest of Dean
