FEBRUARY CLUBNIGHT 2005.
Approx 45 on the night, well if you all signed in I’d know for sure wouldn’t I, still never the less a real fine turn out for a winter club night, thanks again to you all.
No real club news to report as all is quiet at the moment, so the main event of the evening, The Auction`, kicked in unusually early, that’s a first, did I hear you all shout!.
Father Charlton (sorry Ros) did the honours as auctioneer (nice one Bri,you did a fabulous job!) adding a certain charm to the whole event, with Budge/Di working furiously behind the scenes doing all the clerical bits and the laying out of the goods, and the final sorting out of the monetary exchanges at the end of the evening, with everyone else doing their bit by `buying`!.
It has to be said, that the whole of the evening seemed to work extremely well, with everybody joining in and contributing to the floor humour and generating a very real `feel good factor` to the club night.
A sum of £235.00 was raised on the evening for the Acorns Trust, an incredible amount to say the least, and it was all down to the sheer generosity of you the` members` for not only making such bids, but also for allowing the total monies raised, to go directly into the Acorn’s fund.
Budge/Di were `gob smacked`, and would sincerely like to thank all that took part for such a level of generosity way and above the norm, on their behalf, Thank you all`.
Captain Canaries Chirps.
Brian Charlton Fantastic to not only see you `up front` doing what you do best, extracting money`!! But also to see you arrive at the club night on your beloved GS, a truly magnificent feat of physical achievement given the circumstances, well done Bri`,you`d da man`
Budge/Di thanks again to you both for sorting out the essentials behind the scenes, which undoubtedly played a large part in the success of the evening. Nice one Di`, not sure about Budge!.
Ian/Mel Spring Nice to meet you both, an extended warm welcome whilst we all hope to see you both again soon honest`!!
Pete Craddock, Andy Bromilow and Mike Taylor again, well done to you all once again for recently passing your advanced motorcycling test. You can all now `do it safely`, and with pride.
