SAM v SAM
Following our visit to Hamble in October last year, the Solent Advanced Motorcyclists accepted our invitation to visit us in our neck of the woods. This took place over the weekend of Saturday 26th/Sunday 27th March with six of them, led by their chairman - Kevin White - travelling up from the Southampton and surrounding area.
A couple of routes had been prepared which included a 200 mile ring of some of the finest roads in Wales on the Saturday which I believe everyone enjoyed as there were not very many’ straight bits’ for the whole of the ride but some pretty tired people at the end of it, and a run down to Shaftsbury on the Sunday via quite a scenic route with them heading for home from there.
Going by the comments and expressions of thanks, a good weekend was had by all. Let’s just hope that when we go back down there in October that we can experience some of their roads in much better weather than we had last time – bring it on.

18 Bikes and 23 Sammers turned up for this ride. Weather freezing at start but warmed up by time we got to Chepstow. Breakfast and Hot Drink taken on Board followed by a quick look around at "Hog The Bridge" venue. Quite impressive. Middle part of ride was enjoyed by all -curves, bends and  warmer weather. Arrived at Countrywide Ledbury for second drink and warm-up stop. Settling down for the last bit of ride to Simon's house was enjoyed by all. On arrival, our hosts did us proud -hot parsnip soup for starters, home made bread with copious amounts of hot beverages supplied.  Jacket potatoes, bangers and lush rich sauce topped it off. Cakes followed to end the day off. Several other members joined the party, enjoying the camaraderie. Simon and Rachel - you did us proud. Thank you! Route
